“We’ve been really active helping the public in Dita district not only in Dita but also who are in need by giving relief goods when it comes to calamities." shares Jocelyn Bartolazo, a Barangay Health Worker.
Due to the Enhanced Community Quarantine, people are panic-buying supplies such as food and toiletry. The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) ordered grocery stores to limit the number of shoppers to minimize the risk of spreading the novel coronavirus.
On March 19, the officials of Barangay Dita together with the Captain of Dita district, Kapitan Toti Dela Rosa visited the residents, advising them to avoid going out of their houses. For those who are in need of supplies, they provided basic necessities such as instant noodles, rice, canned goods, and medicines.
“We’ve been really active helping the public in Dita district not only in Dita but also who are in need by giving relief goods when it comes to calamities. However, we also have limited supplies given in the barangay and we cannot promise the public continuous supplies because it will depend on the higher government how much they will give to us. However, upon having limited supplies, the Barangay Dita officials [are] still providing supplies and needs of the public and we’re willing to help the public in every form of catastrophe.” shares Jocelyn Bartolazo, a Barangay Health Worker.
They restrict the residents from going out of their houses and strictly advises social distancing to minimize the risk of spreading the virus. Moreover, they have also implemented the curfew from 8 p.m. till 5 a.m. There are also checkpoints wherein their temperature will be checked and the vehicles will not be allowed to pass through without a quarantine pass, issued to a single person per household to buy the necessary supplies needed.
