Cavite is the province with the highest number of COVID-19 cases next to Metro Manila, yet their frontline force has reduced by 30%. Governor Jonvic Remulla said on Friday, April 16, that a number got infected.
He mentioned that among capitol employees alone, 60 got infected and 4 died the past month. He also added that 95% of intensive care unit beds across the province were occupied.
On Saturday, April 17, Cavite’s provincial health officer Dr. Nonie John Dalisay said the General Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital (GEAMH) in Trece Marites City had just resumed operations with a skeleton staff. They had to pause operations for a week due to full capacity and workers getting sick.
GEAMH alone has 28 asymptomatic health workers, 3 with symtoms, and 5 admitted.
Remulla has reported that all of public hospitals in the province were at full capacity.
