As of April 16, 2021, the governor of Cavite has announced the suspension of accepting new patients in 8 provincial hospitals because the staff has been infected with Covid-19. According to Rappler: “On Saturday, April 17, Dr Nonie John Dalisay, Cavite’s provincial health officer, said the General Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital (GEAMH) in Trece Martires City had just resumed operations, with a skeleton staff, after a week of temporarily not accepting patients due to full capacity and workers getting sick.
GEAMH alone has 28 health workers who were asymptomatic, 3 showed symptoms, and 5 admitted. The hospital has 7 positive cases admitted and 7 probable cases as of Saturday.”
And then in Philippine Information Agency(PIA) there are about 38 medical staffs with positive tests for Covid-19 in places like “Bacoor, Dasmariñas, Trece Martires, and in the municipalities of Kawit, Maragondon, and General Mariano Alvarez (GMA).
The general hospitals are not the only ones affected but the private ones as well with Cavite Rising stating from an interview that those private hospitals are at 95% occupancy.
The governor also urged the people to be careful by saying “Mag-ingat ng todo… Walang bulletproof sa COVID. Kahit bata pa ay tinatamaan”
