The national government has started to roll-out vaccines for front-liners and senior citizens covering almost 100 percent of the front-liners and 20 percent of the seniors.
Cavite ordered 3-million doses of NOVOVAX (US) vaccine to be administered free of charge for its 1.5 million citizens.
These vaccines are said to be for the ages 18-59 only according to gov. Jonvic Remulla’s Facebook post at 4am this day. He also mentioned that senior citizens and indigents are NatGov’s first in priority. Meanwhile, the healthy and productive including ages 18 below are last in line.
The national government issued a directive to include mayors and governors in the priority list for vaccination. This made Remulla shameful considering his physique to be strong and somewhat healthy. “I would rather give my slot to someone more vulnerable and in need,” he said. But he proceeds to mention that “Anti-Vaxers" could possibly use him to advance their cause against vaccination.
As of yesterday, 3pm, Cavite reached 1,844 positive cases with at least 6,303 active cases.
“During these critical times, the more we need to rely on the medical and scientific process.” Remulla mentioned.
The budget for NOVOVAX (US) collaborated by LGU reached 1.8 billion pesos. They “expect delivery in July and not later than December,” Remulla said.
Governor Jonvic Remulla continues to inform Cavite through his series of Facebook posts with the hashtag #ECQSeason2. As of now, the post series is already at episode 7.
